College of Engineering

It’s game time, Hokies! Young Ho Chang '87 and Justin Chang '17, a father-son duo, are sponsoring a challenge to build excitement and increase the impact of your gift. This year’s college leaderboard standings are based on each area's percentage increase over their all-time best Giving Day donor count.

Areas with the largest increase in donors relative to their best year’s totals will be rewarded with bonus challenge funds. The top area will receive $25,000, with $15,000 and $10,000 going to second and third place, respectively. That’s an extra $50,000 up for grabs in addition to the university challenge funds.

Virginia Tech Engineering is playing to win! Harness your competitive spirit and join fellow Hokies in helping us reach our goal of 2,000 donors in 24 hours.

Gifts of any size greatly impact experiential learning across the college:

  • $10 provides the Harris Manufacturing Processes Lab with one pair of safety glasses for one of the 800+ students they teach each year.
  • $15 pays one student to work in the Build Lab for an hour.
  • $20 helps purchase 3D printing filament material for undergraduate labs.
  • $25 buys PPE for one student enrolled in the Unit Operations Laboratory.

How to designate a gift:

  • On the "Give" page, select the College of Engineering as the area of support.
  • If you would like to designate a gift to a specific department or area, another dropdown menu will allow you to select a specific fund.
  • If you don't see your preferred gift designation, call 800-533-1144 and make your gift over the phone.
