The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets continues to evolve as a world-class leader-development program that prepares cadets for the world they graduate into. Our alumni rise to face new challenges and leave a lasting impact on their communities and around the globe. Your donation to the Corps on Giving Day directly supports today’s cadets.
This year, we’re asking Corps class years and bud classes to unite, support cadets, and have fun with these three challenges:
Cadet Challenge
Corps Color Guard alums Alison Laclede Tillotson '15 and Ian Tillotson '14 challenge 75 cadets to give during Giving Day. When we reach that goal, a $2,500 donation to the Commandant's Priority Fund will be unlocked.
Cadet Company Participation Challenges
Make a Giving Day donation to the Corps of Cadets of $5 or more. Participation is what is being counted!
The cadet company with the highest number of participants (cadets, alums, parents, and friends of the Corps included) by the end of Giving Day will be awarded a streamer for their guidon that will display the company’s dedication to philanthropy. Will your favorite company beat all the others?
The cadet companies are:
Commandant's Board Decade Challenge
Support your class decade with a gift to the Corps on Giving Day. The decade that raises the most wins. The class years of the 2000s have claimed victory in the last several years. Can they do it again? Or will another decade come out on top and earn bragging rights? The winning decade will have a $21,000 scholarship created in their honor, thanks to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Alumni Board.
A special thank you to the following board members for making this challenge possible: Thomas and Diana Beam, Lonnie and Barbara (Hay) Brooks, Bill and Betsy Cook, Kelly Dickerson, Eddie and Dori Eldridge, Michael T. Francisco, Greg Godsey, Bob Irving, Gary Jackson, Jay and Joyce Jacobsmeyer, Gary and Dawn Lerch, Scott Lyman, Dee Dodson Morris, Jim and Mary Myers, and Tom Rust.
Follow our Facebook pages for details and to find out the winners after Giving Day ends.
Giving Day ends at noon EST on Thursday, Feb. 22.
