Gifts of any size greatly impact Virginia Tech Engineering Hokies:
- $5 provides one Adobe brick that students use in construction during a service-learning project.
- $10 helps provide sensors and components for students in their bioinstrumentation laboratory.
- $15 feeds one student staff member lunch at a CEED summer camp.
- $20 sends a first-year engineering student to “Blast Day” at a local quarry to learn more about mining and minerals engineering.
- $50 supports updates to the makerspace in Pritchard Hall.
Spanning three generations, including two electrical engineering alumni and a former College of Engineering advisory board member, the May family is this year’s challenge donor. Two challenges to build excitement and enhance the impact of your gift this Giving Day are sponsored by the May Family Foundation.
The four areas with the most donors will be rewarded with bonus challenge funds. The top area will receive $20,000, with $10,000, $6,000, and $4,000 going to second, third, and fourth place, respectively. That’s an extra $40,000 up for grabs in addition to the university challenge funds. This year’s college leaderboard standings are based on gathering the most donors.
Classes of 2015-2024, this is your chance to make twice the difference! Every dollar given to an engineering fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.
How to designate a gift:
- On the donation page, select College of Engineering as the area of support.
