Giving Day starts Feb. 19!

Hokies, get ready for an exciting competition as we come together to race to the finish line this Giving Day! The race begins at noon ET on Feb. 19.

Participating is easy! Here’s how to join Virginia Tech alumni, students, friends, employees, and parents to ensure a win for Hokies everywhere this Giving Day:

✍️ Sign up to be an ambassador. Ambassadors are the champions of Giving Day. They rally their networks by sharing their enthusiasm and inspire friends and family to step up and give. Reminder: You need to renew your Giving Day ambassadorship every year!


  Share the date. Ask your network to save the date for Giving Day: Feb. 19-20.

The area with the most donors between 12 and 1 p.m. ET will win $1,000 in additional funding.

Social Challenge: Scavenger Hunt
One or more items will be hidden across campus. The first person to find the item and send a DM to either the Virginia Tech Facebook or Instagram account will unlock a gift for the area of their choice.

Social Challenge: Memory Lane
Submit photos of yourself in Lane Stadium on Instagram (check out Virginia Tech's stories!). One user will be selected to win $1,000 in bonus funds to an area of their choice.

Social Challenge: Around the World
Share photos of you in Hokie Gear during your world travels with Virginia Tech's Instagram (check out the stories!). Someone will be randomly selected to give an extra $1,000 in bonus funds to an area of their choice.

Current Undergraduate Challenge
The current undergraduate class with the most donors will receive bonus funds to the area of their choice as voted on via the respective class years' Instagram accounts: @vtclassof25, @vtclassof26, @vt_classof27, or @vtclassof2028

Senior Challenge
The Top-3 areas that receive gifts from the most senior donors (yes, this counts as a senior class gift!) throughout Giving Day will receive $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respectively!

Young Alumni Challenge
The Top-3 areas with the most young alumni donors (classes of 2015-2024) will receive additional funds to their chapter scholarship — $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third!
