Last year, CNRE's supporters made a tremendous impact.

  • More than $411,000 in scholarships and over $44,000 in fellowships made undergraduate and advanced degrees possible for 150 students.
  • Research fellowships enabled undergraduates to investigate topics ranging from compostable cutlery to supercell thunderstorms to piping plovers.
  • Travel grants allowed more than 20 graduate researchers to present their findings.
  • The Manufacturing Academy and PackExpo afforded career development opportunities.
  • Faculty jump-started research on chronic wasting disease in deer and sustained ongoing projects involving black bears, forest carbon, and LIDAR-informed tree thinning.
  • Students utilized new equipment for field and lab experiences like bat detectors, compasses, logger's tapes, clinometers, and handheld data recorders
