Moss Arts Center
Help us provide unforgettable arts experiences for children.

Each year, wildly enthusiastic students — from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade – fill the Moss Arts Center’s theatre for free matinee performances by artists from all over the world. They explore the center’s visual arts galleries during school tours and create and learn during hands-on workshops with artists. For many students, visiting the Moss Arts Center is the first time they’ve ever been to a performing arts facility or a gallery.

Since the center opened in 2013, close to 33,840 school-aged children have participated in our free engagement programs. You can help us make these kinds of experiences possible for even more children. Your Giving Day donation will go directly to our PK-12 outreach efforts.

Why do kids need access to the arts? Engaging in artistic activities offers a wide range of skills that they will use throughout their lives.

Arts experiences:

  • Allow children to express their creativity and imagination, encouraging them to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas. The arts provide them with a means to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, which is especially beneficial for children with challenges communicating.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration; expand problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills; and help children explore their feelings and learn to cope with stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that involvement in the arts can improve academic performance.
  • Introduce new cultures, traditions, and perspectives to children, promoting understanding and expanding worldviews.

Encouraging children to explore and appreciate the arts from a young age can lead to a lifelong interest in artistic and cultural experiences. Your Giving Day gift to the Moss Arts Center will support the center’s work to provide unforgettable arts experiences for children. Every gift makes a difference.

All Giving Day donations to the Moss Arts Center will be recognized in the 2024-25 season Moss Arts Center performance programs.
