The 2021 season was a banner year for Virginia Tech softball, advancing to the Super Regionals for just the second time in school history in D'Amour's second full season as head coach. D'Amour also won his 100th game at Virginia Tech this year, becoming the fastest head coach in school history to reach the milestone, doing so in just 127 contests. The Hokies finished the season with a 37-15 record and a 23-11 mark in conference play, sweeping the Tempe regional. D’Amour and his staff were named the NFCA Mid-Atlantic Coaching Staff of the Year, while junior pitcher Keely Rochard was named a First Team All-American, just the third Hokie to receive first team honors in program history.

"Our softball program is getting to the point where we can compete consistently against the best softball programs in the country. The donations that our fans generously give help us in a variety of ways. I cannot overstate enough how important donors are and what they mean to our program. As ACC softball improves, it is imperative that we continue to recruit and retain high level student athletes. The funds that donors provide the program will allow our student athletes to have an experience that allows them the best chance to compete on and off the field at a national level."
- Pete D'Amour, Head Softball Coach
