Coach Brooks and the Hokies begin the new academic year excited for another season at Cassell Coliseum, with the best fans in the country behind them.
In 2020-21, the Hokies navigated the pandemic and turned in one of the best seasons in program history, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years and advancing into the Second Round with a 70-63 victory over Marquette.
Tech boasted the highest scoring duo in the ACC with First Team All-ACC student-athletes Aisha Sheppard and Elizabeth Kitley last season. Sheppard was named an AP All-American and Kitley was a finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award, honoring the nation’s best center. Additionally, point guard Georgia Amoore earned All-Freshman Team honors.
Brooks’ teams continue to set records, winning all four games in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and winning every home non-conference contest of his tenure.
With the starting five returning, and the addition of talented transfer students, the Hokies are poised to be a dangerous team in the ACC once again in 2021-22.
