As the cost of scholarships continues to rise, we depend on support from our donors to ensure that our student-athletes receive a world-class education and a first-class experience at Virginia Tech. We are fully committed to providing the very best nutrition and training facilities for our student-athletes. We are also excited about the upcoming improvements to our strength and conditioning facilities, as well as the $20 million Student-Athlete Performance Center that opened spring of 2021. We are committed to being the preeminent program in the ACC.

Virginia Tech Football has always been known for its character and toughness. The hard work and grit of former players and coaches established that foundation, along with the passion and support of Hokie Nation. We will continue building on that foundation, operating with the same principles and same integrity. We will play hard, smart and tough and work as hard as we can to win championships.

YOUR support on TRIUMPH TOGETHER will go to the following areas of need:

•  Recruiting: We need additional resources to evaluate and recruit the right kind of young men who fit our program. We also need full-time personnel, not just student volunteers, who can properly host those prospects and sell them on our program and the Virginia Tech experience when they visit campus.  Dollar goal: $5 million

•  Assistant coach salary pool: Our compensation pool for assistant coaches and support staff needs to be competitive in the marketplace. We need the ability to compete for and retain the best coaches and support staff. Dollar goal: $10 million

•  Quality control coaches and analyst: Some of these roles are developmental, others involve bringing the experience of longtime football veterans into our program. In both cases, we’re behind our national peers. Dollar goal: $5 million

•  Player development program: If we want to help our young men grow academically, athletically, spiritually and socially, we need the resources and staff necessary to help them excel at Tech, and prepare them for life after football. Dollar goal: $2 million

•  Capital needs: Our renovated weight room has been a significant upgrade, but we still have other needs. 
  • Our training room and our locker room no longer meet today’s college football standards.
  • We no longer have office and meeting space to house our current staff, let alone the personnel we need to add.  
  • We need to continue growing and improving the physical footprint of Virginia Tech football, especially in the areas that touch our student-athletes daily. 
  • This is another area where we’re behind our national counterparts.      
    Dollar goal: $8 million

We spend a considerable amount of time and energy identifying, traveling and communicating with recruits to show them how amazing Virginia Tech and Hokie Nation are.  As I travel across the country, I’m constantly reminded about how passionate Virginia Tech alums and fans are about the Hokies. Sustaining success and competing at the highest level comes with a cost. Other fan bases and other programs are constantly investing in their programs and their facilities. We do need to do everything possible to ensure we’re doing everything possible to help our student-athletes succeed in the classroom and compete for championships on the football field. Our ability to relentlessly recruit is a direct result of the support we receive from our donors. Thank you for your consideration and support!"
