Check out Giving Day 2023!
College of Science

Over the past year, the Virginia Tech College of Science has continued its traditions of innovation and educational leadership.

We committed to creating an Academy of Data Science, a focal point for data science at Virginia Tech as well as a means for scientists from government agencies and private enterprise to collaborate with us. The new Data and Decisions Sciences building, when completed in 2023, will be home to the Academy.

At the same time, 100 years after a science major became the first female graduate of Virginia Tech, we established a Women in Science Leadership program aimed at mentoring and supporting our women scientists. We hope it will become a beacon for improving the environment for women scientists and encouraging the best and brightest of them to be drawn to Virginia Tech.

In scientific research, three College faculty received prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER awards, along with a Department of Energy and a National Institutes of Health award to other junior faculty.

Much of this work was enabled by the support of donors such as you. Today, we ask you to support us on our mission by giving to the College of Science annual fund. This fund gives us the flexibility to quickly deploy support to needed research, or to scholarships for students, or support of our faculty.

Please join your fellow Science Hokies to help make a difference and give today.
