Expanding Opportunities

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine aims to continually push boundaries and expand opportunities for our students, faculty, and clients. Every project we embark on fuels our ultimate mission to promote education, service, and innovative discovery.

Veterinary Teaching Hospital Expansion

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) at Virginia Tech provides the finest animal health care available, while building the future of the veterinary profession through hands-on training of residents, interns, and DVM students. Since the current small animal hospital was completed in 1987, it has seen incredible growth in cases due to the increased demands for veterinary services across the world. To address a critical need, the veterinary college has plans to launch an expansion and renovation of the VTH to create modern, world-class teaching and clinical research spaces that will advance knowledge through patient care.

Your investment in the VTH expansion ensures an overall increased level of care for the community by increasing the number of patients we can help, shortening the wait time for hospital services, and improving the hospital environment. With the help of our community advocates and partners, this long-awaited project can be a reality by 2026.

Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center

Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC) is a premier, full-service equine hospital located in Leesburg, VA. This Giving Day, the EMC is raising money for a much-needed equine stock, a piece of equipment that helps safely contain a horse during examination and treatment, which will improve the quality of care for our equine patients as well as the environment for our clinicians and technicians.

-> Help us reach 40 EMC supporters on Giving Day to unlock an additional $8,000!

Animal Cancer Care and Research Center

The Virginia Tech Animal Cancer Care and Research Center (ACCRC) represents hope for a brighter future in cancer care by integrating animal and human researchers to advance cancer treatment in pets and people alike.

Student Scholarships

Education is at the heart of the veterinary college’s mission and is the driving force behind all our hospitals and programs. Scholarship support for both our veterinary and public health students is needed more than ever to combat the increasing burden of student debt that plagues the veterinary profession.
