The Virginia Tech Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC) is a national leader in the construction industry supply chain. Our curricula prioritize improving the safety and health of workers, innovation, building performance, smart design and construction, sustainable and human-centric built environments, and project management. Our unique approach to inter-disciplinarity allows for greater opportunities for collaboration and impactful research, discovery and innovation.

MLSoC strives to provide experiential learning opportunities for every student. We believe these experiences enhance student learning by providing practical exposure and engagement, ultimately differentiating our students as they enter the industry. This includes international and regional service-learning projects, regional and national academic events like competitions, and distinctive industry engagement, including internships, co-ops and site visits. We can deliver these value-based initiatives with the support of our donors.

How You Can Help

Every gift matters and will impact our recruiting and experiential learning efforts to serve an industry in need of more professionals.  With your continued or first-time support, you can help fulfill our needs, for example:

• $10 Provides a student with required personal protective equipment (PPE) (e.g., goggles, gloves, hearing protection) 
• $25 Covers the cost of ceremonial hardhat for graduates
• $50 Supports the development of recruitment materials to attract more students to pursue construction as a first-choice career
• $100 Helps cover travel costs for students competing in regional and national events as well as construction site field trips
• $150 Supports student travel for domestic or abroad service-learning projects
