We make the world a better place
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences is committed to making the world a better place.
With the humanities as our guide, students learn the importance of doing good in their communities, from researching the climate's impact on flooding conditions to giving books to inmates of Virginia prisons.
Our faculty's research changes the world, too. They explore mental health care access for the LGBTQ+ population, tell the untold stories of U.S. veterans, and discover ways that humans interact with technology, among many topics.
Your gifts to the college make a powerful impact for our students and faculty. You help us to be great. Please give what you can, with our profound thanks.
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences — composed of 10 academic departments, three schools, three ROTC programs— brings the perspectives of the arts, humanities, social sciences, human sciences, and education to achieve meaningful solutions to complex human problems. We proudly claim more than 60,000 alumni, 4,000 students, and 600 faculty and staff.
