The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets continues to evolve as a world-class leader-development program that prepares cadets for the world they graduate into. Our alumni rise to face new challenges and leave a lasting impact on their communities and around the globe.
Your gift to the Corps on Giving Day directly supports today’s cadets.
This year, we’re asking Corps class years and bud classes to unite, support cadets, and have fun with these three challenges:
Cadet Challenge
Corps Color Guard alums Allison Laclede Tillotson '15 and Ian Tillotson '14 challenge 50 cadets to give during Giving Day. When we reach that goal, a $2,500 donation to the Commandant's Priority Fund will be unlocked.
Commandant’s VTCC Decade and Cadet Company Participation Challenges
Make a Giving Day donation to the Corps of Cadets in any amount of $5 or more. Participation is what is being counted!
If you’re an alum, you must include your class year and cadet company on the online giving form to be counted. If you’re a friend of the Corps, include the decade or class year and cadet company you want your donation to go toward.
The year groups are:
The cadet companies are:
Remember to choose only one!
Giving Day ends at noon ET on Thursday, Feb. 16.
The decade with the highest number of participants by the end of the Giving Day will win. The prize is $20,000 added to your decade’s Class Endowed Scholarship provided by Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Alumni Inc. board members.
The cadet company with the highest number of participants (cadets, alums, parents, and friends of the Corps included) by the end of Giving Day will be awarded a streamer for their guidon that will display the company’s dedication to philanthropy.
The class years of the 2000s have claimed victory the last several years. Can they do it again? Or will another decade come out on top and earn bragging rights? Will your favorite company beat all the others?
Follow our Facebook page for details and to find out the winner after Giving Day ends.
A special thank you to the following board members for making this challenge possible: Tom and Mary Anne Roberts, Gary and Jill Boward, Jay and Joyce Jacobsmeyer, Bill and Betsy Cook, Thomas and Diana Beam, Dennis and Sharon Cochrane, Jim and Mary Myers, Chuck and Brenda Rowell, Geoff and Michele (Pitt) Stewart, Gary Jackson, Lonnie and Barbara (Hay) Brooks, Steve and Danielle Scarfe, Rob and Karen Goodson, Tom Rust, Hal Schneikert, Don and Mary Sowder, and Bob Irving.
