Athletic Training

Over the last several years there has been a much needed increased emphasis on student-athlete wellbeing and health care services.  In the last year, our sports medicine program has seen several areas of growth.  From increased staffing, additional referral resources to performance and recovery options, our staff is working diligently to keep our athletes healthy on and off the field and at peak performance levels.

YOUR support on Drive for 25 Day will go toward the following initiatives:

  • Provide emergency equipment to diagnose and treat heat related emergencies with our update Emergency Action Plans.

  • Provide recovery options such as recovery pumps, theraguns and myofascial release tools.

  • Provide fixtures and equipment for the Sports Sciences Conference Room in the Eddie Ferrell Training Room.

  • Provide our sports medicine staff with the resources to attend continuing education courses and gain new clinical skills to help our student athletes.

“Our student-athletes are special and deserve the best care possible.  Your generous support will help us be in a better position to serve and provide them with first class health care and world class research.  Thank you for all you do for Hokie Nation! ”

- Mike Goforth, Associate AD for Sports Medicine
