Drive for 25 Blitz

The Virginia Tech women’s basketball program has consistently broken school records with an exciting brand of up-tempo basketball on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum since head coach Kenny Brooks moved to Blacksburg in 2016. In each of his three seasons, he has guided the Hokies to the postseason in year and racked up 20-win campaigns in the process each season.

In 2019, the program will look to build on the successes of the past few years and set their sights set on loftier goals. With the ACC moving to an 18-game conference schedule this season, the Hokies will have even more opportunities to test their mettle against competition from the best women’s basketball conference in America.

This season the Hokies will be led by All-Freshman Team member Dara Mabrey, who set the program record with 80 3-pointers in her first season, as well as other sharpshooters Kendyl Brooks and Aisha Sheppard who both rank in the top 10 all-time in 3’s made.

YOUR support on Drive for 25 Day will go toward the following intiatives:

• Updates and Renovation to WBB Cassell Gameday Locker Room - The program is in the designing phases of updating the locker room in Cassell Coliseum used on gamedays for the first time since 2012, in order to provide a state of the art area for players and staff to prepare for games. This project will be similar to the changes men’s basketball made to their gameday locker room which was completed in the fall of 2017.

• Recruiting - We will continue our efforts in international recruiting as we work to get the best basketball players and top student-athletes to come to Blacksburg and join Hokie Nation!
