The Virginia Tech men’s golf program has a new head coach, but as in the past, this mentor has a great depth of experience in the program and knowledge of what makes this outstanding operation tick. With the hiring of Brian Sharp as the new head coach, Virginia Tech has a man who, both as a player and a coach, has witnessed and helped guide the rise of this unit into an elite-level college program.
Central to the life of the program, the “Hackin’ Hokies” have been loyal over the years and have endowed 35 scholarships. Through their amazing support, men’s golf is close to endowing their scholarship program in perpetuity.
YOUR support on Drive for 25 Day will go to the following areas of need:
-
Assist players who might need additional time to graduate in order to continue our No. 1 goal of making sure all of our student-athletes earn their degrees.
-
We have been fortunate to be able to add and improve our facilities from the VT Golf Team Complex at the Pete Dye River Course to the new Blackwood Indoor Golf Facility.
-
We also use the funds to help defray the expenses for our annual trip to play in the Puerto Rico Classic, one of college golf’s top events.
“Our program has experienced tremendous success over the years due to the loyalty and support of our supporters. With their help, we continue to be able to play a great schedule, recruit at the highest-level and provide our student-athletes the best in collegiate golf experiences.”
- Brian Sharp, head coach
