Sergio Lopez Miro has Virginia Tech Swimming and Diving headed into a positive future. In 2021, both the men’s and women’s teams finished in the Top 25 at the NCAA Championships. As they move towards the 2023 campaign, your gifts will go towards supplementing the travel budget, the team’s yearly training trip, recruiting, and facility enhancements.
“I'm once again very excited for Triumph Together with our alumni, our fans and families of all our sports, but especially swimming and diving. It's an opportunity for us to come together, raise funds, and create awareness of our program. It also allows us to showcase our goals and improvements we've had over the last few years on our way to becoming a top-15 nationally-ranked program. I'm really looking forward to August 23-25 where we can raise the necessary funds to help our program with recruiting, traveling, and facility enhancements to stay competitive with other nationally-ranked programs and reach our goals at the conference and national levels.”
- Sergio Lopez Miro, Head Coach
The Hokies travel deep as a roster, taking a large number of student-athletes from both men’s and women’s rosters to various meets around the country. Your gifts to this program would allow Hokie swimmers and divers to travel comfortably throughout their long season. Gifts towards travel would also allow this staff to continue to recruit internationally and domestically for some of the most talented potential Hokie student-athletes. Coach Miro likes to utilize one trip a year outside of the facility to further develop his talented roster. It is vital to the building of team chemistry and the overall top tier student-athlete experience that Virginia Tech has to offer.
The Hokies call the Christiansburg Aquatic Center home, and there is always room for improvement in the facility. Contributions from Triumph Together would help this program make the necessary changes they see fit in the facility that they practice and compete in.
"Triumph Together helps our program generate the necessary funds to train in the best conditions, which improves our student-athlete experience at Virginia Tech, achieve our goals, and compete at the highest level."
- Youssef Ramadan, Junior
"Triumph Together is essential to our program because it helps ensure the longevity of our team. Funds from the campaign help create opportunities for our swimmers and divers to travel to important meets and to keep us competitive as one of the top teams in the nation."
- Emma Atkinson, Junior
