Virginia Tech Giving Day 2022
Graduate School

You make a difference

Virginia Tech Graduate School is responsible for graduate education across the university, with more than 150 degree and certificate programs. We provide programs, services, and support for a community of more than 6,800 graduate students whose reasons for pursuing graduate degrees are as varied as the students themselves. We are committed to helping them achieve their goals. We support research, teaching and learning opportunities that promote working collaboratively across disciplines and programs, encouraging students to tackle society’s pressing problems creatively and ethically.

Our innovative, globally recognized Transformative Graduate Education experience prepares our graduates to stand out and succeed in highly competitive, transdisciplinary global job markets, whether in professional fields or in the academy. The award-winning Graduate Life Center is the heart of the Graduate School, providing a culture that fosters a strong, inclusive and diverse graduate community while promoting work-life balance with a range of programs and activities.

More than 3,000 graduate students receive financial assistance to pursue their goals, many of them working in university laboratories and research institutions, or teaching undergraduate students in their fields of study. Your Giving Day donations help us provide needed support to students. Additionally, your gift provides the ability to continue such key programs as Diversity and Citizen Scholars, the Global Perspectives Program, and Communicating Science.

How you can help

Your Giving Day donation to these areas assures that we can continue providing the transformative graduate education experience and fostering an inclusive community of students.

Communicating Science
Your gift helps support a key program initiated by the Graduate School to help students share their work effectively and clearly with a wide range of audiences. These skills also help students work with colleagues across disciplines as they tackle today’s complex problems.

Dr. Karen P. DePauw Transformative Graduate Education Fund

Graduate School Advanced Degree Alumni Fund
Your gift to this fund allows Dean DePauw to provide financial support to students, continue and expand programs and classes, and allocate resources where they can make the greatest impact on graduate education at Virginia Tech.
