Virginia Tech Giving Day 2022

Why we need your support

The Virginia Tech Athletic Fund (Hokie Club) was founded in 1949 with the sole premise of providing scholarships for the student-athletes at Virginia Tech. Currently, more than 550 student-athletes in 22 varsity sports receive financial aid each year. It is vital to the future of Virginia Tech Athletics that scholarships continue to be the most important resource we provide Hokie student-athletes.

The landscape of intercollegiate athletics has vastly changed over the past two decades, as has the financial investment required to achieve excellence in the classroom and win championships. As the cost of scholarships, continue to rise, so in addition, have expenses such as equipment, travel, nutrition, student-athlete development, and strength & conditioning.  We must grow and enhance our Hokie Club membership to continue our positive momentum.

How you can help

Gifts given to the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund (Hokie Club) are the primary resource for meeting the academic and athletic needs of more than 550 Hokie student-athletes. On Giving Day, your gifts to these funds will help maintain our position as one of the nation’s premier programs.

  • Hokie Scholarship Fund
Gifts made to the annual fund will go directly towards student-athlete scholarship support.  In 2017-18, the scholarship cost for Virginia Tech Athletics was $15.7 million, the highest mark in school history. Your generous donation will provide for the academic resources for more than 550 Hokie student-athletes.
