The Moss Arts Center and the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) are changing the ways learning happens—inside the classroom and beyond. Together, this performing and visual arts center and research institute are working to integrate the arts into every level of student learning, even during these current challenging times. Students of all ages are receiving meaningful arts experiences—the kind they will carry with them throughout their lives.
For example, the Moss Arts Center celebrated the creativity and diversity of perspective of Virginia Tech students with its recent Student Arts Spotlight exhibition. From collages, sketches, photography, and paintings to digital works, sculpture, and textiles, the exhibitions included more than 60 works of art created by over 50 Virginia Tech students from various academic disciplines.
You can help us make these kinds of experiences happen.
A gift to the Moss Arts Center supports:
- Opportunities for students from across Southwest Virginia to engage with artists from all over the world through exclusive performances and question-and-answer sessions.
- Meaningful, creative experiences—from master classes with famed musicians and movement workshops with leading choreographers to special student art exhibitions. With your support, students can explore their own creativity and expand their imaginations.
When you give to ICAT, your gift supports:
- Creative research adventures for Virginia Tech students. Research grants give students an opportunity to connect with peers from across academic disciplines and work alongside faculty. Your gift will support opportunities for students to address grand challenges and creative opportunities, ranging from large societal problems to industry-specific issues to the frontiers of artistic expression. For example, student research teams are using immersive technologies to help connect people separated by physical distances during this time of COVID-19 and beyond.
- Building teams of engineers, architects, computer scientists, and artists to explore the future of work in healthcare, using the latest virtual reality technology coupled with good old-fashioned sketching to craft dynamic space configurations, enhanced workflows, and effective data strategies.
It’s been shown that students who have experiences like these throughout their educational careers will be more likely to make meaningful connections with others, more likely to excel academically, and more likely to imagine a better world for all of us.
Together, we can give students these experiences and help inspire the next generation of creative, global citizens.
A donation of any amount will make a big impact.
All Giving Day donations will be recognized in the 2021-2022 season Moss Arts Center programs. We appreciate your support!
