You need facts, relevance, and understanding. That comes from the kind of journalism you find every time you listen to RADIO IQ, your window to the world — from breaking news to storytelling. Our Radio IQ stations carry 24/7 news and information featuring programming from NPR, the BBC and our own award-winning news team. 

There's also no complete picture of the human condition without the arts. That's why WVTF Music is committed to presenting the majesty of classical music works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Aaron Copland just to name a few. We also spotlight the great jazz masters from Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Dave Brubeck as well as new artists. WVTF Music also presents Americana and folk music on weekends, featuring local bluegrass and songwriters, as well as national performance programs featuring artists of all genres.  

Virginia Tech operates 24 radio signals covering almost 70% of Virginia with these two streams of programming. We also support Radio Melrose, a 24/7 jazz station in Roanoke. Listener support makes up more than 65% of our revenue stream and is critical to this non-commercial service now that federal funding has been removed.
