When you Help a Vet, you Help a Pet — Join us as we ‘Pie It Forward’ for Student Scholarships

Giving Day 2026 is here — and we’re serving up pies for a purpose!

Back by popular demand, our pie catapult is returning. Blaze, our "ambassa-dog," presses a button, and — whoosh — a cream pie launches into the face of a well-loved member of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Why pies? Because behind the laughter is a mission that matters.

This year, we’re focusing on student scholarships. When you help a veterinary student succeed, you’re not just changing one life — you’re impacting every animal that student will treat throughout an entire professional career. Your gift today creates a ripple effect of care, compassion, and healing for countless pets, farm animals, and wildlife in the years to come.

Your support = more scholarships = more veterinarians = healthier animals everywhere.

Make Your Gift Go Further with Giving Day Challenges!

When you give, you’re not just helping one student — you’re unlocking opportunities for many. Throughout the day, generous challenge donors will amplify your impact by releasing additional funds as we reach key participation milestones.

These challenges fuel scholarships for future veterinarians, support current residents and interns, and empower public health students who will protect both animal and human health. Every gift moves us closer to unlocking thousands of dollars that will shape the future of veterinary medicine and public health.

Follow the Fun!

Tune in on social media @VAMDVetMed throughout Giving Day to see our faculty get pied by our resident “ambassa-dog” and celebrate the incredible impact of your generosity.

Give today to Help a Vet, so that you can Help a Pet! Because a scholarship today fuels a lifetime of care for animals everywhere.
