Help students get the books they need

To a college student, few things are more important to daily success than textbooks and food. Thanks to your generosity in past years, we’ve lightened the burden of textbook expenses through our emergency scholarship fund. Last year, we helped more than 100 students with their textbook purchases. Food? Maybe you have heard that Dean Kevin Pitts and his wife, Toni, host an annual Thanksgiving meal for students who have to stay on campus over the holiday. This year, the Dean opened the doors to any student on campus. Again, thanks to our annual fund, we hosted a catered Thanksgiving meal for more than 500 Virginia Tech students. Science Hokie alums, you’ve really paid it forward. Let’s keep it going for the next generation of Hokies.
