College of Natural Resources and Environment
Be a Champion for Our Planet’s Future

A brighter, healthier world depends on all of us, and you can make a real difference today. On Giving Day, join the College of Natural Resources and Environment (CNRE) in protecting the resources that sustain life and creating solutions for tomorrow. Your gift, combined with the generosity of alumni, friends, and supporters, powers transformative learning experiences and innovative research that drive sustainable change. Here is what donor support made possible last year:

  • Opening doors for students: More than $464,000 in scholarships supported 108 students as they pursued undergraduate and graduate studies in natural resources.
  • Igniting discovery: Undergraduate research fellowships advanced studies in areas such as sustainable materials, severe weather, and endangered species conservation. Graduate students shared their findings with the world through travel grants.
  • Launching careers: Programs like the Manufacturing Academy and PackExpo provided students with valuable career development opportunities.
  • Strengthening research: Faculty launched and advanced projects that addressed urgent challenges, including wildlife diseases, forest health, carbon storage, and innovative forest management.
  • Investing in hands-on training: Students gained access to new field and lab equipment, including tools for wildlife monitoring, forest measurement, and data collection.

Make Your Gift Go Further

On Giving Day, every contribution to CNRE has an even greater impact.

You choose where your support goes, whether to the college overall, scholarships, your department, the Virginia Master Naturalists, or the CNRE Leadership Institute.

Every gift helps us meet participation goals that unlock additional funding. No matter the amount, your generosity makes a difference.

Give $5 or more today and help CNRE reach new heights. Together, we can become the environmental stewards the world needs us to be. Go Hokies!
